CEASE therapy stands for Complete Elimination of Autistic Expression. Its advertised as a method that can rid children of “toxic imprint” from vaccines and other substances. Naturopaths believe this causes autism. The actual therapy includes supplements like vitamin C or Zinc (orthomolecular support). The children subjected to CEASE therapy are given over 200 times more vitamin C and 4 to 5 times more zinc compared to what the FDA recommends.
Isotherapy
Isotherapy is the use of causative substances as a homeopathic remedy. It is believed that their toxic effects can be witnessed as the children begin to react to the remedies (experiencing the side effects of being overdosed). Currently 30C, 200C, 1M and 10M potencies are used to “clear out the energetic field of the patient from the imprint of toxic substances.”
Orthomolecular support
Orthomolecular support is used with isotherapy. Orthomolecular support is when large amounts of vitamin C magnesium, Zinc and Fish oil are used. “During treatment these supplements serve as a support for the healing process smoother and help to avoid severe reactions during the clearing of toxins.”
CEASE Beliefs
CEASE therapists believe that during pregnancy and the first two years of life, the brain is very vulnerable and should be protected as much as possible. Medication during and after pregnancy, especially vaccines, can be toxic at a young age. Even illness, medication and vaccines in the energetic field of the parents before pregnancy can be transmitted to the child by energetic transfer.
Where CEASE came from
CEASE therapy is based on the unscientific belief that vaccines cause autism and massive amounts of vitamin C “nourish the brain.” People who buy into this quackery believe that therapy ‘erases the imprint of toxins.’ They believe that 70% caused by vaccines.This is similarly claimed by the ex doctor Andrew Wakefeild. This has been completely discredited.
CEASE was invented by a Dutch doctor by the name of Tinus Smits. He died from cancer in 2010. This is the same year Wakefield’s medical license was revoked. He claimed to have discovered the foundation of CEASE therapy and came to his “hypothesis (it literally mean educated guess and he is not educated if he believes this.)” of what causes autism. He claims that its 70% vaccines , 25% “toxic medication” and other substances and 5% disease. He believed by using “causative” substances the imprint could be erased.
Risks of Using CEASE Therapy
The ASA has emphasized that CEASE therapy has no credible backing and that advertising against vaccination could lead to life ending consequences for children.
They also state that an overdose of vitamin C can cause:
- cramps
- diarrhea
- vomiting
An overdose of zinc can cause:
- weakening of the bones
- anemia
Not having vaccinations
- have dire, potentially life altering or life ending consequences
- leaving a person open to infection by fatal and very contagious diseases otherwise not spread
Training Needed to be a CEASE Therapist
Only one training course is needed to be a CEASE therapist. The courses are only three to five days. Once the course is completed, participants are qualified to administer CEASE therapy unsupervised.
CEASE Therapy Being Fought in the UK
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ordered 150 naturopaths to stop promoting that they can cure autism through CEASE therapy. These claims have no scientific backing. Guy Parker, the chief executive of ASA, has said that false and potentially harmful treatments were being advertised by practitioners online. He also said that ASA has already drawn the line and set out that naturopaths must not make either implied or direct claims on ads and websites that they can cure autism.
“Failing to get their houses in order with be targeted with further sanctions.”
The ASA has already taken action against one practitioner, Elle Fox. ASA banned their misleading claims that CEASE therapy could ‘address’ autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, depression and schizophrenia in adults and children. Her clinic was called Bubbling Life. She was also recommending GAPS.
Claims Bubbling life made:
1. made in relation to causes of autism on the page titled ‘CEASE functional solutions for Medication & Vaccine Consequences discouraged essential treatment for conditions for which medical supervision should be sought
2. On the page titled ‘GAPS nutrition’ discouraged essential treatment for conditions for which medical supervsion should be sought out.
3. That GAPS therapy was effective in treating chronic fatigue syndrome, myalgic encephalomyelitis and anxiety were misleading and could be substantiated.
Fox acknowledged receipt of complaint but did not provide a sufficient response.
